Luke 6:45

Luke 6:45

This past week has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, and I cannot believe how much happened in a week! From running the Mammoth Half to starting CPY yoga teacher training, to moving into my new apartment, my mind and body have been working hardcore, but I’m so glad I can take a step back and recognize those moments of joy and bliss.

So how did God fill me up with joy last week?

Luke 6:45

Sunday – Thinking back to the Mammoth Half Marathon still brings me incredible joy and I have been on such a running high since the race; I am so impatient to run my next half, America’s Finest City!

Monday – Treating myself to Starbucks Coffee and two Specialty’s cookies; I have definitely been avoiding spending money on coffee as much as possible during the work week, but every once in a while I treat myself to some Starbucks and I felt that a Monday after a mini vacation was a great time to do so ;)

Tuesday – Waking up early and deciding not to go to CPY 6 AM yoga, but choosing to go to Pannikin Coffee and Tea in La Jolla to sit, write, and enjoy their delicious muffins and coffee before a day at work

Luke 6:45

Wednesday – Hands down, the start of CorePower Yoga Teacher Training.  Stay tuned for a post on my first week of training!

Thursday – While in the process of packing, I found a gift my friend Sara gave me (and the rest of our FC family who shared witnesses) after SEARCH 29.  It was at this retreat that I first allowed myself to be vulnerable and share personal stories about myself, and having that experience gave me the courage to start this blog!

Friday – A run after work in Mission Beach before the sunset.

Saturday – Going to the Little Italy Mercato and Caffe Italia.  After 5 long weekends full of plans, I finally was able to return to one of my happy places, the farmers market paired with coffee from one of my favorite shops.  It’s good to be home.

This week I am taking vacation, and I am eager to spend a lot of time reading, writing, sleeping, and spending time with friends! Happy Monday!

With love, Janine

  1. Tell me about Search 29. I attended a search retreat years ago (as in, never stop searching for Christ); is this the same idea? Hope you found it as powerful as I did!

    1. Hi Jennifer! The SEARCH retreat I participated in was during my time in college, which I eventually was able to lead during my senior year. I do know that the SEARCH retreat is a rather common retreat on university campuses, and more so on my campus as I went to a Catholic university (University of San Diego). For the retreat I participated in and led, there are four of aspects that the retreat particularly focuses on – witness, service, prayer, and the Body of Christ, or community, but does delve deeper into other areas of discipleship, forgiveness, and more. Ultimately, it is a retreat focused on reflecting and building relationships with God, others, and those on the retreat. The beauty of the retreat is that all those who participate — whether they lead or they actually are going on it for the first time — are all searching for something different — strength, patience, peace, God, whatever! And it provides an opportunity for those to take a step back and consider where they are in their journeys. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)

      1. Thank you, Janine! Sounds similar to what I did. Wonderful program. Never stop searching, right!?

Leave some love
